| United Cast Bar supplies Unibar material into the pumps and compressors sector for various applications:
Continuously cast iron material is used by most of the major compressor manufacturers who represent over 50% of the existing market worldwide. United Cast Bar offer its Unibar range of products which demonstrate substantial advantages over steel and sand castings when used for Rotors, Pistons and Cylinder Liners for example. Manufacturers are utilising the superior machinability characteristics of Unibar continuously cast iron to achieve significant improvements on their machining times and consequently, significant cost savings with improved mechanical characteristics. Lathe turning operations (Facing, Centering and Rough Turning) have shown to be up to 50% faster on Unibar continuously cast iron compared to steel, with 25% improvement on profile turning and grinding operation times. |
